Resurrection Sunday
Read Matthew 28:6
-
He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.
Matthew 28:6 (NASB)
The Greatest Morning in History
Easter Sunday is the day that changed everything. The tomb was empty, and Jesus had risen—just as He promised. The power of sin was broken, and death was defeated. What seemed like the darkest day on Good Friday became the greatest victory on Easter morning.
For the disciples, the resurrection turned sorrow into joy, fear into faith, and despair into hope. The same is true for us today. Because Jesus lives, we are no longer bound by sin, and we no longer fear death. His resurrection assures us that every promise of God is true.
What the Empty Tomb Means for Us
Our Sins Are Forgiven – Through His death, Jesus paid the price for our sins. Through His resurrection, He proved that the payment was accepted (Romans 4:25).
We Have Eternal Life – Because He conquered death, those who trust in Him will also rise to eternal life (John 11:25).
We Live in Victory – The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in us today (Ephesians 1:19-20). We are no longer defeated by sin, shame, or fear.
Living in Resurrection Power
Easter is not just a day of celebration—it’s a call to live in the power of the risen Christ. Too often, we live as if Jesus is still in the grave, carrying burdens He has already conquered. But because He lives, we can face tomorrow with hope, strength, and confidence. This Easter, let’s not just remember the resurrection—let’s live in its power. Let’s walk in victory, trust in His promises, and share the good news: Jesus is alive!
Prayer
“Lord Jesus, thank You for conquering sin and death. Because You live, I have hope, freedom, and eternal life. Help me to walk in the power of Your resurrection and share this good news with the world. Amen.”
